This week saw the second hearing for David Aptaker for justice of the family and probate court.

President Obama gave NBC behind-the-scenes access to the White House for a two-hour prime time event. His speech to the Muslim world in Egypt was labeled historic even before he delivered it. Does the president's overwhelmingly positive media coverage indicate the media is not doing its job?

I especially appreciated Adam Reilly's point about the "crisis" nature of Obama's presidency, and making the proper comparison with the overwhelmingly favorable treatment Bush received from 9/11 to Katrina.
Th other thing about that Pew study was the sample the 42/20 number comes from - it included the Washington Post and NYT, but not the Wall Street Journal; it included the old 3 network news and PBS, but not Fox. The sample seemed suspiciously skewed, given where people say they get their news nowadays. It also might be skewed because they need to compare the same sample as in 1993 (even though the sources people use for their news are vastly different than 16 years ago).
Hi All,
ST: Agree with All B-t-Press participants w/ A Future Caution
Everyone did good on this segment. Emily hit many fine points in her lead in to the segment, DanK added points about how the media loves to hit the highs of the marketplace (Product Marketing), one of my favorites JoeS also did great; as well as, CC with her own brand of caution plus thought and AdamR which the previous poster SteveS already noted also did great.
The caution is: There are already chinks in his armour (armor) over certain issues that effect our nation and our world. That Notre Damne speech was one made at the wrong place and in the wrong tone, and then his workings on relabeling of the word Genocide where it concerns the Turks/Armenians when it suits politics. Please remember that Cheney relabeled {{Torture}} to Enhanced Interrogation and the USA media bought it hook line and sinker and repeated it OVER and OVER again to the USA public like a mind trance.
Back in a minute
The show reminded me of a Boston Globe Editorial board meeting.
Hi Joe,
ST: Agree with your BG EB assessment.
Again I liked the B-t-Press board meeting (mimicking a Globe, Tyco, Bank-of-America Board meeting in some ways "Yes mahm, we are great maam") on this B-t-P segment. Yet based on my comment maybe they did need a Keller on this segment for a short precautionary note. JoeS and CallieC quite often serves this purpose of balance yet they are caught in this great Lincoln moment. At this point in time after a HORRID, UGLY historical time with Cheney, Rumstud, Atkinson, Rice, , , , P43 (Bush) as the Un-Decider cowboy warrior, it is REFRESHING to see a thinking man on the world's stage.
During Iraq War III one embedded older journalist commented on WBur about the difficulty of being embedded and being impartial. He was kind of interesting since he actually helped the young soldiers understand war and became a kind of dad or granddad. Basically as a journalist you must climb the tallest tree and see the real WAR and not the current day's (24hour news cycle) battle. Now I know your bosses say it is only about ratings and money.
