The New York Post's circulation is in freefall

Murdoch may be putting up pay walls, but it looks like he can't even give the New York Post away

Circulation at the New York Post is in freefall, down almost 200,000 copies in just two and a half years, the New York Times reports.

That's almost a 30 percent drop, which means that the Post has once again fallen behind its tabloid rival, the Daily News, and is posting annual losses of up to $70 million, according to the Times.

Bad week for Rupert. Besides plunging circulation--Page Six can't keep up with TMZ & Gawker Web sites--he's being sued for civil rights violations by former editor Sandra Guzman. All the while, he's threatening to block access to Google and to sue BBC for copyright infringement. He'd do well to study Napoleon and what happens when one wages war on too many fronts.

Good point, Shel.
